Aromatherapy vs Sport Massage in Bangkok — Which One Do You Actually Need?
Every male spa in Bangkok seems to have the same two programs on the menu: Aromatherapy massage and Sport massage. They really are very different, yet plenty of first-time guests still book the one their body doesn't need. Here's a plain comparison so you don't have to guess.
Aromatherapy: When to Pick It
Aromatherapy at Mandel Spa uses warm essential oil and long, smooth strokes at light-to-medium pressure. It works on your nervous system more than on the muscles themselves. Choose it when you want to switch off: a stressful week at work, jet lag, anxiety, poor sleep, or the day after a heavy night out. Most guests are half asleep within 20 minutes. We recommend at least 90 minutes.
Sport Massage: When to Pick It
Sport massage has a different job. Our therapists use deep pressure, focused trigger-point work and assisted stretching to release one tight muscle group, usually the lower back, glutes, hamstrings, shoulders or neck. Choose it if you have a specific pain or restriction: office syndrome, gym soreness, golf shoulder, tightness from running. Our SOS Sport Massage guide explains the full method. We recommend 90 minutes, because 60 is too short to properly release anything.
